Global Digital Currencvy Association - Special Statement

The Global Digital Currency Association (GDCA) as part of the effort to assist in the fight against fraud and crime in the gold and digital currency industry would like to issue the following statement:

(PRWEB) January 17, 2004 --The Global Digital Currency Association (GDCA) as part of the effort to assist in the fight against fraud and crime in the gold and digital currency industry would like to issue the following statement:

The GDCA was originally set up to assist in the fight against fraudulent activities in the gold market but now feel that, as a part of their expansion policy, the scope of their influence should extend to the gold and digital currency market as a whole. This inevitably would include any form of criminal activity that:

a) brings the gold and digital currency into disrepute
b) interrupts the expansion of the gold and digital currency markets
c) encourages unwarranted attention from financial institutions
d) contravenes the ethical, moral and legal standards of the GDCA

There is no excuse for the inappropriate use of gold or digital currencies and the GDCA will be taking steps, on a number of fronts, not all of which will be subject to public scrutiny for security reasons, to assist in the fight against crime in the gold and digital markets. As an immediate initiative however, as from today:

The GDCA will maintain the right to refuse to admit as a member, or suspend any member which it (the GDCA) finds engaging in any criminal activity including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, terrorist acts of violence, criminal violence, child pornography or any other activity which the GDCA considers contravenes its ethics, moral and legal standards.

The GDCA will also refuse to provide services and listings on its site, to any individual or business engaged in criminal behavior. In addition, the GDCA may choose to identify such suspected criminal users of digital currencies to its members and or the public after first notifying the suspected criminal and including any statement received within ten days from the suspect with any notice it provides to its members and or the public.

The GDCA must not only take effective steps to curb illegal activities in the digital currency arena but also must be seen to be doing so if it is to inspire confidence in the public arena." Said Jim Davidson, President of the GDCA. He went on to say, As a result of intensive discussions by the officers of the GDCA further initiatives are being devised and will be announced as appropriate."

The purpose of the GDCA includes contributing to the safety and well being of the gold and digital currencies and there are some future surprises in store in the coming year which will be announced as they materialise.
