Mekong Enterprise Fund invests an additional US$630,000 in AA Construction Architecture Joint Stock Company

HO CHI MINH CITY, VIET NAM (14 January 2004) -- Mekong Capital has announced that the Mekong Enterprise Fund, Ltd. has made an additional investment of US$630,000 for the purchase of shares in AA Construction Architecture Joint Stock Company. This brings the Funds total investment in AA to $1,530,000. This investment was in the form of a purchase of shares from an existing shareholder.

Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam (PRWEB) January 17, 2004 --Mekong Capital has announced that the Mekong Enterprise Fund, Ltd. has made an additional investment of US$630,000 for the purchase of shares in AA Construction Architecture Joint Stock Company. This brings the Funds total investment in AA to $1,530,000. This investment was in the form of a purchase of shares from an existing shareholder.

AA is a leading furniture and interior contracting company in Vietnam, with three main business lines. The first business line is interior design contracting services, including the supply of furniture, doors, and stained glass for construction and refurbishment projects. AA is the leading interior design contractor for large international standard hotel and building projects in Vietnam. The second business line is the design, manufacturing and retailing of high-quality indoor furniture for the domestic furniture market under the Nha Xinh" and Designer Collection" brands and retail shops. Nha Xinh is the leading retail furniture brand in Vietnam. AAs third business line is the manufacturing and export of high quality indoor furniture to Japan and other countries. Revenues in 2003 are expected to be over US$13 million.

The Mekong Enterprise Fund is a private equity fund focusing primarily on equity investments in private entrepreneurial businesses in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The Fund aims to invest in private companies founded and managed by private entrepreneurs, with a focus on export industries and local service providers. The Fund aims to add significant value to the companies in which it invests by helping to strengthen the management systems, without being directly involved in the management of those companies.

Investors in the Mekong Enterprise Fund currently include the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Nordic Development Fund (NDF), the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO), the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation Ltd. (Finnfund), the Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries (BIO) and private investors.
