Sentinel Commissioned at Kingston Upon Hulls School of the Future
Radun Controls Ltd are confident that Sentinel will prove as durable and reliable in Endeavour as it has been in over ten years of service elsewhere in the country.
(PRWEB) January 18, 2004 --Endeavour High School is the latest in 21st Century education. This 15 Million investment by the pioneering city of Hull, close to the city centre and is equipped with the latest in both high-technology classrooms and sports facilities including interactive whiteboards, electronic notice boards, a climbing wall and the latest developments in Radun Controls Sentinel electronic registration and attendance system.
The project is under the leadership of the Head Teacher, David Throp, whose intention is to inspire learning and to ensure the safety of both staff and students. By swiping in at each lesson at one of the initial 64 card reader points, the location of every person is automatically recorded, and in the event of a fire or other emergency, a list of these locations can be rapidly produced to enable a reliable and detailed head count to be obtained. Any missing person can then be quickly identified and the emergency services can be accurately directed to their position.
Access control is provided both for the students entrance and the remote sports facility. This can be amended in real-time safeguarding both the students and the facilities by including or excluding individuals or groups by the simple click of a mouse.
The system also provides for cashless catering for school lunches in the canteen, which minimises the need for the carrying of cash, and its potential loss as well as reducing the administrative burden in this 1,200 student school for the caterers as well as freeing up the time demands on the teaching staff in registration.
Chairman of the School Governors, Councillor Daren Hale is confident that this site, which was once a workhouse, will represent optimism, innovation and a bright future for the students.
