Randy and Cindy Moore Honored by The Songwriters Network.
The Songwriters Network honored Nashville singers and songwriters, Randy and Cindy Moore during their annual awards program.
(PRWEB) January 20, 2004 --The Songwriters Network honored Nashville singers and songwriters, Randy and Cindy Moore during their annual awards program on January 10. Cindy received the Best Christmas Song of 2003" award for "Christmastime". This song is very special to her since it is about her childhood Christmas and people dear to her heart. Randy came in number 2 in the Top 25 songs of the year for "Mosey Off" a song off his new CD Southern Thing". This is the third time in 3 years that Randy and his songwriting talents have been recognized. He was chosen "Best New Country Artist " in 2001, Best Country Artist" in 2002 with his self-titled CD winning Album of the Year". Cindy received the award for Best Female Country Artist" in 2002 also. This year the categories were changed to the top 25 Songs and Christmas Song of the Year.

Cindy Moore, a native of Atlanta, GA and an Opryland U.S.A. theme park veteran, performs at the world- famous Gaylord Opryland Hotel, the Wild Horse Saloon, Grand Ole Opry and various conventions and venues worldwide. For over twenty years, millions of people have enjoyed her portrayal of "Miss Minnie".Cindy learned her craft from the original Minnie Pearl, Sarah Cannon. Sarah discovered Cindy portraying "Miss Minnie" in Opryland's COUNTRY MUSIC U.S.A. and saw something she liked in the young performer. She took Cindy under her wing and schooled Moore in the finer points of the Minnie Pearl Character. Today, when folks ask Cindy, "Oh, are you the new Minnie Pearl?" She respectfully declines with, "There's only one Sarah Cannon, and there's only one Minnie Pearl. I'm just here to keep the legend going for you."
Randy Moore is a Nashville based recording artist whose career spans two decades that run the gamut from live performances to television features and all points in-between. Moore debuted at age 17 on the world famous WSM Grand Ole Opry. His days on tour included opening for Hank Williams, Jr., David Allen Coe, and Johnny Paycheck. Since then he has shared the stage with the likes of Vince Gill, Lee Greenwood and Amy Grant. In October 2001 he shared the stage with Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen in two special benefit shows in Red Bank, New Jersey for families of victims of the World Trade Center attack. Randy performed a Carl Perkins tribute with such members of Elvis Presleys Sun Records band as Sonny Burgess and D. J. Fontana. Those evenings remain a very special memory for Randy. He has written with such greats as Lonestar, Restless Heart and the legendary Carl Perkins.
