Have Photo; Get Publicity
A picture can help you get much needed publicity. Here are four reasons why you should consider sending photos to the news media.
(PRWEB) January 21, 2004 -- Press releases are great publicity tools. But, did you know that a photo could be the next best thing to a press release? Heres why.
1. Photos make great fillers.
Newspaper, magazine and newsletter publishers, editors and designers are always looking for fillers for those annoying blank spaces. A lively photo is a great filler.
2. Photos are like ads but not quite.
A photo is like an ad but not quite. It doesnt cost a dime for you to place it in a publication. Send the media a photo depicting action. Include a brief but detailed caption describing the action, the names of people in the photo, your name and your business name as the owner or donator of the photo. Voila! Instant publicity.
3. Photos are great conversation starters.
The next time someone approaches you and asks, Have we met?" Dont dismiss the comment as a cheap pick-up line or tell your new acquaintance that you just have one of those faces. Tell them that they may have seen me in XYZ Magazine. Dont stop there. Tell them what the photo was for, what the event was, about your company and give them a business card.
4.Photos are worth more and speak louder than a thousand words.
A photo can speak volumes about you and your business. If a photo depicts you handing a scholarship to a deserving student, it says you are a philanthropist who recognizes the importance of investing in the future. If you are shown giving a gift or donation to the community on behalf of your business, the picture shows that your business is not in the community only to make money but is an active and committed member of that community.
