Expanded Self-Promotion for Introverts Workshop Helps Unleash The "Inner Superman"

Nancy Ancowitz's innovative Self-Promotion for Introverts workshop helps introspective people market themselves, providing useful tips and tools that teach them how to harness their strengths, make a plan, set goals, and take action. The Makor/Steinhardt Center of the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan is expanding this class, which has sold out repeatedly since the summer, to a new two-part series: Feb. 17 & 24.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 1, 2004 --With three sellouts since Summer 2003, the Upper West Side's Makor/Steinhardt Center is once again offering the interactive workshop, Self-Promotion for Introverts, now expanded to two sessions. Aimed at helping introspective people market themselves, the class will be held on two consecutive Tuesdays, February 17 and February 24, 2004, 7:00-9:00pm.

"New York has many talented people who need help getting noticed in a very competitive town," said workshop creator Nancy Ancowitz, an established business communication coach and a director of the International Coach Federation-NYC. "Self-Promotion for Introverts was created for them. Now, by extending the workshop to two evenings, we are covering even more ground, with additional tips, tools, and exercises." Ancowitz believes that self-promotion has a bad rap because it is often associated with pushy or obnoxious sales tactics.

During the workshop, Ancowitz teaches people to harness their strengths, make a plan, set goals, and take action. She does this through exercises that counter their negative voices, help them reconnect with their strengths, and put them in the shoes of their prospective clients and employers.

One out of four people are introverts, and their ranks include Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Katherine Graham, Bill Gates, Steve Martin, and Laura Bush. "Introverts have special needs," says Ms. Ancowitz, herself a very sociable introvert. "We often need to think things over rather than just blurt out answers. And we recharge our batteries during our much-needed quiet time. But that doesn't mean that we have to be reclusive."

"The Self-Promotion for Introverts workshops have been sellouts for us, and receive tremendous positive feedback," said Dr. Elliott Rabin, Director of Education, Makor/Steinhardt Center. "Makor is proud once again to offer the first course that gives introverts permission to be who they are, effectively showcasing their talents to attract business and success."
