Brothers spice Chili "Compassionately"

Florida's Newest and Most Unique "Hot Spot" serves Chili as a main course, in a 1950's gas station themed restaurant.

(PRWEB) February 1, 2004 --Brothers Lee and Tim Papadeas have merged the best qualities from their manufacturing backgrounds with a love of good food and years of research, to carve out a new concept for premium gourmet chili in a unique franchise prototype restaurant. "We want to change people's perception of chili," Tim Papadeas said. "We want them to think out of the bowl -- to think of chili as a main course." To that effect, Daytona Chili Station serves up six different chili recipes ranging from spicy Texas Red, a "very hot and spicy recipe bursting with beef" to a white chicken chili, "a rich, thick and spicy white chili loaded with tender chicken." The chili is served atop a choice of bases including spaghetti, white rice or a baked potato. Then additional items such as red kidney beans, onions or shredded Cheddar cheese can be chosen. Daytona-style chili is Lee's creation and features sweet and spicy flavorings. "Our chili is compassionately spiced," Lee Papadeas said. "Bottles of hot sauce are on the table if customers want to step it up a notch." Chili dogs, chili cheese fries and appetizers round out the menu. "Don't forget our four-star lobster bisque," Lee said. "It's an automatic sell. We serve it with a delicious cheddar cheese biscuit, and it will drive you nuts." The brothers said they designed their menu for great taste because they went into the business as customers looking for a good dining experience, not as restaurateurs. They are in the process of developing a low-carb menu to add to the mix, to have something for everyone. In keeping with a hot and spicy theme, they serve a "burnin' cool" cheesecake topped with a special hot sauce, which the menu states is "very weird, yes, but really, really good." The decor of the fast-casual restaurant harkens back to 50s full-service gas stations. The "Fuel for Travel" take-out menu makes clever reference to "free gas with fill-up."
