Special Needs Children will Continue to Benefit at DreamPower
DreamPower Therapeutic Equestrian Center, a 501-3c non profit, serving special needs children, will continue to serve metro Atlanta for the 11th year in a row. The changing real estate market in metro Atlanta almost caused DreamPower to shut its doors in 2003, but they are now open for 2004 and have a strategy to combat the developers who threaten metro Atlanta's farmland
(PRWEB) February 9, 2004 --DreamPower Therapeutic Equestrian Center, an Atlanta based 501-3c nonprofit providing therapeutic riding since 1993, has once again survived the urban development that is consuming Alpharetta Georgia's precious farmland.
"The program which supports special needs children has been hosted by generous horse farm owners for over 11 years. The facilities and low cost leases they provide allow the program to evolve and mature while helping children and adults gain the therapy they require." stated KC Liederman, DreamPower's founder.
"At DreamPower we provide hippotherapy, sports recreational therapy, and a carriage driving program which is unique to metro Atlanta," Ms. Liederman added.
In 2003, the maturing real estate market caused DreamPower to shut its doors at Agburn Farms, a facility that hosted the program for over two years.
With the support of the community, an interim facility has been found and DreamPower is now beginning its 11th year of operation.
With the growing demand for golf communities and upscale homes, DreamPower will enter the real estate market and begin a capital campaign to fund the development of a permenant facility to support the program and community for future generations.
Metro Atlanta corporations and executives are being sought to help manage and provide support to this critical fundraising initiative.
