New Book Discusses The Colonization of the Human Race".

The book analyzes the evolution of the human mind through the primordial, animal and social stages of evolution. It discusses the colonization of the human race, and the evolutionary basis of ethics, morality, psychology, religion and the law.

(PRWEB) February 3, 2004 --In his new book, The Evolution of the Mind", Richard Townsend claims that the human race is undergoing a process of colonization much like a colony of ants or a hive of bees. In Chapter seven, he develops the argument that the structure of a bee colony with its specialized queen bee, nurse bees, worker bees, and warrior bees, is similar to the structure of our human colony with its specialized leaders, craftsmen, laborers, medical professionals, military, and so on. He further shows that this colonization process is the driving force behind socialism and communism and that Karl Marks and other socialist advocates are pawns of the colonization process.

In other chapters, Townsend effectively redefines our perception of psychology, religion and the law. He demonstrates that the abnormality of psychology is slowly replacing the religious concepts of sin and evil, as psychology replaces religion as the arbiter of ethics and morality.

Townsends main emphasis is on the evolutionary development of the attributes of the human mind. Grouping the attributes of the mind into Primordial, Animal, and Social mind categories, Townsend shows how the human mind evolved during these primordial, animal and social stages of evolution. He then shows that there is a conflict between the fundamental purposes of the presocial and social minds.

Townsend defines the existence of a primordial mind which is comprised of hunger, a reproductive drive and caution. He then defines an animal mind which is comprised of aggression, viciousness, cunning, treachery, greed, and so on. He shows that these were the attributes needed to survive in the vicious eat or be eaten animal world of our prehistoric ancestors.

Townsends social mind is comprised of the attributes of love, compassion, cooperation, concern and care for others, and so on. These are the attributes that were needed to make our social unit function. He effectively explains the evolutionary reasons that these mind categories developed. He also explains how they determine our current day ethics, morality, psychology, religion, and law.

In a compassionate and cooperative social environment, Townsend explains that the unrestrained primordial and animal mind expressions of sexuality, aggression, viciousness, cunning, treachery, greed, and so on cannot be allowed to run unchecked. While absolutely necessary for the survival of our prehistoric animal ancestors, these presocial mind attributes conflict with the proper functioning of our social unit. He explains that the social mind has the task of limiting or controlling the unrestrained expression of these presocial mind attributes. It uses guilt, shame, and disapproval to attain its goal. On the other side of the ledger, the social mind uses approval to reward adherence to its social mind values.

Townsend effectively shows that the social need to control the unrestrained expression of the presocial minds forms the basis of our psychology, our religion, and our law. For instance, unbridled sexuality is universally viewed by these disciplines as abnormal, sinful and evil, and/or illegal. It is universally agreed by psychology, religion and the law that unrestrained sexual expression needs to be controlled. The same is true of the unrestrained display of the other presocial mind attributes. Unbridled aggression, viciousness, cunning, treachery, greed, and so on are all viewed as abnormal, sinful and evil, or illegal. Their unrestrained expression is also viewed by religion as the work of the Devil. Whereas, in contrast, the social mind attributes of love, compassion, cooperation, concern and care for others, and so on are viewed as normal, virtuous, and legal. He shows that these social mind values are also the attributes of the God of our religious lore. Townsend claims it is all based on the genetic evolutionary design that evolved to make our social unit function. He further asserts that we are all pawns of this evolutionary heritage.
