The very popular talent showcase is day two of the entertainment business conference held twice annually in Los Angeles (Feb. 21-22 and June 26-27), twice annually in Baltimore (April 10-11 and August 21-22, presented in partnership with The Baltimore Times and Radio Ones' 92Q Jams and Magic 95.9) and in Atlanta (October 16-17). The two day conference starts at the sponsoring hotel for a day of entertainment business seminars and ends the next day at its sponsoring mall for the talent showcase. Started in 1999 "Uplifting Minds II" showcases an average of 20-30 young acts from across the country (and some dates from all over the world). The entertainment business seminars are hosted by some of the events' panelists/judges and other industry executives. The workshops provide a look into how the business of entertainment works today and also provides a list of who's who with contact information.
The "Uplifting Minds II" seminars will include topics such as "entertainment law tips," "marketing techniques," "studio production techniques," "stage presence," "vocal training techniques," "song writing techniques," "casting call/audition strategies," "A&R techniques" and "promotions and public relation strategies."
Seminar attendees get full access to all seminars, plus a copy of the "Uplifting Minds II" Entertainment Business Handbook; free access to the panelists/judges VIP area at the showcase; refreshments and finger food and a gift bag of free-bees and other materials.
