The Strange Happenings Ghost And Hauntings Research Society was founded in January of 2004 by master magician/illusionist - Aedryan Methyus of Erie, Pennsylvania. Its name, "Strange Happenings" fittingly derives from Aedryan's full stage theatre production of the same name, which in itself consists of many dark and mysterious themes and elements that are at times, paranormal and even ghostly in nature. Aedryan's deep interest in ghosts, hauntings and mysteries of the afterlife stems back to many years ago as a child of 12 in the town of Atlantic, Pennsylvania, where he himself lived in a house of many "strange happenings". The old farm house was believed by family members and many locals alike to be haunted by ghosts.

Its name, "Strange Happenings" fittingly derives from Aedryan's full stage theatre production of the same name, which in itself, consists of many dark and mysterious themes and elements that are at times, paranormal and even ghostly in nature.

Aedryan's deep interest in ghosts, hauntings and mysteries of the afterlife stems back to many years ago as a child of 12 in the town of Atlantic, Pennsylvania, where he himself lived in a house of many "strange happenings". The old farmhouse was believed by family members and many locals alike to be haunted by ghosts.

Though their stay at the house was short, Aedryan and his family experienced many things that went “bump in the night” during that year or so. Some of the strangest happenings included - A buzzing streamer of glowing white light chasing Aedryan out of the yard and down the road, the eerie sounds of children laughing and giggling, constant footsteps all through the upstairs and the creaking of doors opening and closing, which out of fear, had been previously barricaded shut by his mother. Other ghostly activity included the sounds of drawers and closet doors opening and closing in unoccupied rooms and the constant feeling of someone or "something" else in the house. The locals also had tales of their own about a ghostly white horse, running through the field next to the house on certain nights.

Throughout Aedryan's childhood, his grandmother had also lived in a very old and creepy house in the Village Of Wellsburg, a suburb of Aedryan's small hometown of Albion, Pennsylvania. Strangely enough, it was eventually learned that the 200-year-old house had once been a funeral parlor, which would easily explain all of the unusual goings on, which had taken place in the house for many years. Things such as grandma being awakened out of a dead sleep, by hands upon her face or the apparition of a suited man appearing at the foot of Aunt Faye's bed, who sat upon the edge of the bed and slipped under the safety of the covers with her in the middle of the night. Aedryan has often wondered if the old house, in some way contributed to the extreme nightmares, known as "Night Terrors" he had throughout his childhood. One has to wonder.

A combination of Aedryan's past experiences, his extreme fear of death and his recent "ghostly" discoveries, which all these years later, have enlightened him to the fact that ghosts truly "seem" to exist for whatever reasons, all contribute to the inspiration behind the birth of The Strange Happenings Ghost And Hauntings Research Society.

Another contributing factor would be because of the fact that, at the time of this writing, Aedryan has never held any true religious beliefs or faith in an after life of any sort. Being neither Christian nor Atheist and believing only in the things we can see, hear, taste, smell and touch, while at the same time being a creator in regards to writing music and the magical arts, it is not difficult for one to understand why Aedryan has been lured to venture on this quest for faith, proof, reasoning and confirmations.

Whatever the reasons for their establishment, the Strange Happenings Ghost And Hauntings Research Society hopes to in some small way, contribute to science as well as society in general by conducting their ghost studies and sharing their findings with all who are in seek of truth and facts concerning the possibility of an afterlife. Aedryan believes that when and if these secrets of the universe become known and are no longer just "theories", perhaps then, we as a society will strive to be better people. For then, there may truly be reasons to fear the consequences of our actions.

The "not for profit" ghost hunters/paranormal investigators conduct ghost studies and paranormal investigations throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York Maryland and West Virginia in areas that are rich in haunted history, as well as for individuals and businesses, who are experiencing hauntings and are in seek of answers.
