Gallery 500 First Thursday Opening

Gallery 500 presents a solo show with Anastasia Schipani a San Fransisco Artist, opening Thursday February 5th, 2004 .

(PRWEB) February 5, 2004 --Gallery 500 presents a solo show titled Nature Obscene III: El Matador es Matado (The Killer Has Been Killed). Anastasia Schipani, a San Francisco artist weaves a tale of love, death, torment and passion. Working larger than life, she draws you into an arena where boundaries are questioned and blood is drawn. Come experience the possibility of a new reality beyond the fight.

Anastasia Schipani has had numerous solo shows over the past eight years through out San Francisco. This will be her first show in Portland. Her work entices thoughts of Japanese erotica and Spanish culture. Her large scale oil paintings and works on paper are draped from the ceiling and hung from the walls, allowing the viewer to step into her world - a story that taps into the roots of civilization and mythology as she searches for answers to humankinds inhumanity.

A live band and flamenco dancing performance will accompany the opening among other traditional Andalucian treats (sangria and tapas).
