Dr. Jim Kane Joins Software Productivity Consortium (SPC) as President and CEO
Dr. Jim Kane, former CEO of market intelligence firm Federal Sources Inc., has been appointed as the new President and CEO of the Software Productivity Consortium, effective Jan. 19 2004. The Consortium is a nonprofit organization of the nation's leading aerospace/defense and federal IT contractor companies.
Herndon, VA (PRWEB) February 5, 2004 --The Software Productivity Consortium's Board of Directors has appointed James A. Kane to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 19, 2004.
Jim Kane was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Federal Sources, Inc. in McLean, VA, a leading market intelligence and consulting firm serving the federal IT marketplace. He previously held senior executive positions with GTE Information Systems, Chantilly VA (acquired by DynCorp in 1999), GTE SPACENET Corporation (McLean, VA), GTE Government Systems Corp., and with leading Internet pioneer Bolt Beranek and Newman Inc. (BBN) earlier in his career. He was also Assistant Secretary, Executive Office of Economic Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the 1970s.
Kane is highly regarded within the federal IT industry both for his vision on the direction of the market, and for his ability to analyze and synthesize the impact of diverse technical, policy, and competitive forces upon the market. He is a frequent speaker at industry forums, investor meetings and in company boardrooms, and is regularly quoted in the Washington-area and national IT and business press. He holds his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, and his B.S. from LeMoyne College, Syracuse, NY.
