deneg Launches Enhanced Free VoIP Service -- Delivers point-and-click simplicity for placing calls over the Internet

deneg has launched an enhanced registry server supporting its free VoIP service. This provides users with an intelligent phonebook, making it easy for Internet callers to connect with friends, family and business associates worldwide. Currently available to users of denegs easyhome talk VoIP software and soon to be offered to users of any SIP-compatible software, deneg intends its free registry server to evolve into a general phone directory for all VoIP users.

(PRWEB) February 6, 2004 --deneg GmbH, a leading global provider of consumer VoIP services, today announced the launch of an enhanced registry server supporting its free VoIP service. The new registry server provides users with an intelligent phonebook, making it easy for Internet callers to connect with friends, family and business associates worldwide. Currently available to users of denegs easyhome talk VoIP software and soon to be offered to users of any SIP-compatible software, deneg intends its free registry server to evolve into a general phone directory for all VoIP users.

Burkhard Bleilevens, Managing Director of deneg GmbH, said, IP telephony in the consumer sector has huge growth potential, but its success depends on two factors--cost savings and ease of use. easyhome talk solves the cost issue by providing both free PC-to-PC calling and PC-to-traditional phones at local toll rates. Now the introduction of our new registry server makes VoIP as easy and convenient as using a conventional telephone."

Todays VoIP users are hindered because they needed to know both the correct IP address and if the person they are calling is online-two serious inconveniences for people accustomed to picking up a telephone and dialing. denegs registry server eliminates these hassles by showing who is online and by providing single-click connectivity via names or aliases that eliminate the complexity of ever-changing IP addresses-all while protecting the security of users.

Use of denegs registry server is free of charge. To register with the service, users decide if they want to be entered under their own name, their nickname or an alias, just like a conventional phonebook. As with typical Internet messenger services, the user then designates if their entry is disclosed to all or limited to a restricted community.

Development is already under way to further enhance denegs service. For example, deneg plans to offer users an offline voicemail box where calling parties can leave messages for offline users.

About easyhome talk
Why pay for telephone calls over POTS (plain-old telephone service) when you can do it for free using just your PC and your internet connection? Businesses today are already making huge savings by using their IP networks and servers to make voice calls - deneg GmbH in Hannover provides this expensive network infrastructure for free to personal users.

In addition to its PC-to-PC calling features, deneg offers a worldwide service that enables users to call conventional telephones for the cost of a local call. Calls are routed through the internet to the local node of the called party and then fed into the telephone network. So now consumers can enjoy the same cost savings as large businesses and corporations.

Worldwide telephony at the cost of local calls
When calling from PC to PC there are no telephone fees, so users of internet flat rate connections can make calls virtually for free. easyhome talk also allows users to place calls to conventional landline telephones. This is achieved through a worldwide network of gateway servers that carry the IP phone call to the local node of the receiving party and then feeds it into the telephone network. The customers only pay for the local call, for instance a call from New York City to Germany 2,9 US-Cent per minute.

For Euro 38,90 (incl. VAT) the SIP-compatible software comes complete with a headset that connects to the users PC soundcard. easyhome talk software transforms the PC into a telephone with functions such as redial, calling lists, local answering machine and more. The software and the headset offer the same voice quality as a conventional telephone line. For security all calls are automatically encrypted. deneg´s talk-software is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98/ME/NT 4.0, 2000 and XP and can also be configured for use in local area networks with routers and firewalls.

Additional information regarding VoIP services and easyhome talk is available online at www.deneg-shop.de where a 60 day trial version of easyhome talk can be downloaded to allow users to experience the advantages of internet telephony for themselves.
