(PRWEB) February 7, 2004 --Citing the Beatles as thier biggest influence Green Tangerine coincedentally releases thier debut album at the 40 year aniversary of the Beatles' debut into American pop culture. Not even off the presses yet, Catharsis has been gaining support from fellow musicians and critics all over the world.
"When you sit down at the table with Green Tangerine, bring your appetite. From the fatty funk, to the spicy rockabilly, to the sweet sci-fi, to the rich mellow rock, Catharsis brings something to the table for everyone who is hankering for something new"
Johnathan Dunlap - Angry Red Planet (Columbia, SC)
Catharsis is a very diverse album featuring excursions into many of the genres that the Fab 4 helped create. Green Tangerine is comprised of two brothers, Barnett and Andy Greenberg. You might know Andy from the New Orleans jam-monster Dimorphodon. This album is proclaimed by the duo to be a concept album deeply rooted in the school of classic rock.
"The entire album travels on a continuous journey through complex and fundamental compositions. Tempo changes and mood swings in the tunes create a dynamic mileu of feeling and a wide range of tone. This CD is great for traveling when you have the time to listen to it in its entirety - although a couple of tunes stand well on their own, like the funk rock "Away". Andy's leads tear though the hooks and bridge copping a bit of Eddie Van Halen and Trey (Anastasio) in a few measures."
James Ervin - Flywater (Columbia, SC)
