Adacel Receives Contract Extension to Support Portuguese Oceanic ATM System

Adacel's Air Traffic Management (ATM) division has secured a contract extension from NAV Portugal to support the Oceanic Flight Data Processing and Visualization System (OFDPVS) used to control air traffic in the Santa Maria Flight Information Region in the North Atlantic.

Montreal, Canada and Lisbon, Portugal (PRWEB) February 10, 2004 --Adacel, the leading developer of simulation, voice recognition, operational air traffic management and software for civil and military aviation, announced today that the Companys Air Traffic Management (ATM) division has secured a contract extension from NAV Portugal to support the Oceanic Flight Data Processing and Visualization System (OFDPVS) used to control air traffic in the Santa Maria Flight Information Region in the North Atlantic.

Commissioned in July 2001, the OFDPVS was the first completely new oceanic flight data processing system to be successfully introduced in the North Atlantic Region since the 1980"s. The systems objectives are to increase controller productivity, provide better service to aircraft operators while maintaining the highest level of safety, satisfy operators requests to fly random routes and meet the forecasted traffic demand.

The contract extension covers a three-year period commencing January 2004. The OFDPVS utilizes Adacels Aurora software for advanced flight data processing functions including automated conflict probe capability.
