"First and Tan"

You thought you knew the lineup. The Carolina Panthers with their Cinderella story showing went head to head with Superbowl vets New England Patriots in what is being touted as one of the best Superbowls in recent history. But did you happen to see the walk-on team…fans were shocked, the players cheered and broadcasters commented on what great tans they had!!! Unbelievable!

No it wasn’t the infamous streaker or the even more infamous body part…it was Team Planet Beach. This year, the place to be the day before the big game was at the exclusive “Athletes First and Tan Superbowl Party presented by Planet Beach.” Planet Beach played host to athletes, coaches and broadcast favorites from across the nation. The guest list included some of football’s greatest such as Cincinnati Bengals' Carson Palmer, Buffalo Bills' Drew Bledsoe and Mike Williams, Green Bay Packers' Ahman Green, Amani Toomer and many more.

Over 350 players, coaches, staff and guests from the host city of Houston enjoyed appetizers prepared by one of Houston’s finest restaurants, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse. They also enjoyed a specialty martini bar, tequila bar and walked away with Planet Beach gift bags filled with exciting new products and surprises. Planet Beach is headquartered in New Orleans, so they know more than a thing or two about putting on a first-rate party. Guests raved about the upscale yet unpretentious environment. The timing was perfect to get ready for a wild Saturday night while still unwinding after an exciting Friday.

While this was Planet Beach’s first trip to the Superbowl it certainly won’t be their last. Only next year they won’t be a walk-on…after winning this game they’ve already secured a spot on next year’s lineup.
