Tarmin Secures Department of Defense Certification
Tarmin Becomes First European Firm To Receive JITC Certification For US
Department of Defense's Next Generation Security Infrastructure
London, UK (PRWEB) February 9, 2004 --Tarmin Solutions, developer of advanced information security technologies and products announces that its OfficeGuard Corporate Edition v2.3 has received interoperability certification for the US Department of Defenses next generation public key and CAC security infrastructure.
Conducted at the Defense Information Security Agencys (DISA) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Public Key Infrastructure Laboratory at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, testing consisted of over 100 discrete evaluations including successful completion of the optional Common Access Card (CAC) criteria. The CAC program emphasizes use of smart cards for identification and authentication purposes and accounts for 90% of all digital certificates issued by Federal agencies to date according to a recent report published by the General Accounting Office. By providing a CAC compliant framework, OfficeGuard 2.3 helps to ensure the cross-network secure, authenticated and trustworthy delivery and management of sensitive information.
As a result of this certification, OfficeGuard is now available to U.S. government agencies that require unique security functionality, as well as commercial users who demand proven, high assurance data protection solutions", said Tarmin CEO, Shahbaz Ali. While the demands of the testing were grueling, OfficeGuard consistently demonstrated its resilience and I am pleased to report that it performed brilliantly, passing with flying colors. I have always believed strongly in the quality of this product and for it to go through the testing process as quickly as it did only serves to strengthen this belief. We now have a military spec. compliant product and I think that that is great news for Tarmin. A hearty job well done to all who worked on this project."
Based on Tarmins revolutionary Indus Intelligence framework, OfficeGuard 2.3 was easily made compliant with numerous DoD unique security policies, enabling OfficeGuard 2.3 to be certified in record time. In production environments this flexibility helps ensure that Indus Intelligence powered solutions works seamlessly with existing policies, business processes and applications, maximizing IT ROI.
OfficeGuard 2.3 will be available to US Federal Agencies via a VOSB GSA contract # GS-00F-0006P held by Tarmin Solutions partner Integrated Digital Systems of Manassas, Virginia.
