IQMax Introduces Mobile Charge Capture

IQCharge streamlines and enhances charge capture - Improves the profitability of physicians and their practices.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) February 9, 2004 -- IQMax, Inc., a leading developer and provider of healthcare focused enterprise enabled mobile solutions for hospital and ambulatory clinical workflow solutions, today announced the availability and installation of IQCharge. IQCharge provides a fast, accurate and intuitive mobile solution for capturing charges in the inpatient and outpatient settings. By providing a simplistic approach to capturing E&M codes and procedures, lost fees will be a thing of the past." says Chris Harmon, Chief Technology Officer of IQMax.

Complementing IQMaxs IQSpeak® Mobile Enterprise Dictation solution, IQCharge provides the companys second application in a suite of mobile solutions for Physicians. Industry studies have shown that enabling the collection of charges using PDAs results in significant improvements in revenue capture. Without automation, physicians commonly rely on 3x5 index cards, other hand written methods or their memory to keep track of patient encounters and procedures not recorded on a paper based super bill in their practice or through hospital information systems. Estimates of lost charges resulting from manually logging procedures on paper have run as high as 20%. The proper coding of these manually logged procedures also suffers due to lack of proper documentation. IQCharge is commonly implemented with a patient schedule feed or ADT interface thereby providing the patient demographic information on the PDA. Physicians simply select a patient from their PDA list and can immediately select the correct E&M code and procedure codes with the associated diagnosis. Within seconds, they have a completed encounter charge which can then be synced to their billing system either wirelessly or through an IQMax sync enabled workstation. Users of IQCharge can additionally create their own macros which when used will immediately populate pre-defined charges for common procedures.

Mobilizing Healthcare Solutions
IQMax has architected its solutions to provide the healthcare PDA user with reliable, robust and enterprise deployable applications. IQSpeak (dictation) and IQCharge (charge capture) provide high value and best in class performance when deployed in a wireless or wired environment. IQMax applications function on either Palm OS or Pocket PC PDAs interchangeably and provide functionality to meet HIPAA security compliance guidelines including point to point encryption.
