Huntington Beach, CA (PRWEB) February 9, 2004 --Regal Entertainment Group, Mayo Clinic-Jacksonville, General Nutrition Centers, NewYork Presbyterian Hospitals, Cost Plus World Market, Allina Hospitals and Clinics, RadioShack Corp, UCLA Healthcare, News America Marketing, FleetBoston Financial, Ryder System, Inc., Providence Health System, as well as, 59 small business companies have joined www.Seniors4Hire.org to recruit and hire older workers for over 30,000 jobs available today.

Typically, these are jobs that require mature, experienced and knowledgeable individuals," says Renee Ward, founder of www.Seniors4Hire.org, an online career center for businesses that value a diverse workforce and actively recruit and hire those 50 years of age and older.

Membership is free for job seekers. Unlike government sponsored programs, there are no poverty income eligibility requirements to participate.

Employers can promote their companies and post job openings for $36.00 or less with an annual membership. Highly effective, hires have been made within 48 hours in some cases.

While age bias is still alive and well, it is becoming less so." says Ward. More businesses are realizing the value of hiring and retaining the older workforce."

For good reason. With the aging of the baby boomer population the number of job seekers over 50 is increasing. The U.S. Department of Labor reports that between 2001-2010 the number of workers age 55 and over will increase 46.6%.

American workers are living longer and healthier," Ward says. Much like other diversity issues, business members of Seniors4Hire.org are committed to giving older job seekers, retirees and senior citizens sincere consideration."
