New Cyber-Reality Site for Aspiring Entertainment Journalists
The cyber equivalent of reality television, You're the Critic.com is looking for average folks to turn them into Star Critics.
(PRWEB) February 9, 2004 --The game is afoot. Everyone has an opinion. Not everyone is cut out to be an entertainment journalist. You're the Critic.com is going to find out just who is! We are looking for critics in four categories, music, theatre, film and books. We want critics whove got what it takes to get the story" and write fair and cogent reviews of the latest releases and openings.
First time visitors to the site are encouraged to sign-up to become a critic and to read reviews. After they have confirmed their email address they are free to post reviews. Once critics have contributed 25 stories they become a member of the Critics Circle. This is the group to watch. This is the first step in becoming one of our Star Critics.
Ah, but thats not all. Along the way our journalists will be given additional writing assignments. This will include posing questions to scheduled celebrity authors, actors, directors, designers and other creative professionals.
Eventually, our readers will be asked to vote on their favorite critic from each category. The winners of this vote will become the Star Critics of Youre the Critic.com.
"We are looking for average folks, NOT industry insiders" said founder Andrew C. McGibbon. He continued "were looking for the 80 year-old grandmother in Dubuque, the truck-driver who gets his Internet access via satellite, the 15-year old kid in their parents basement. And as someone recently said, the guy in a pick-up with a gun rack in the back window!"
Aspiring critics and readers should go to www.yourethecritic.com to join. To submit a press release about an opening or release date to You're the Critic.com please go to http://www.yourethecritic.com/contact.php
