London, UK (PRWEB) February 14, 2004 --Guitarists at all levels can now download an e-book about applying Hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programming and other accelerated learning techniques, to improve their playing skills. Players all over the world regularly get stuck in a rut, taking long periods of time to gain any noticeable improvement. The book 'Beyond Bedroom Guitar' uses a combination of practical techniques and mental routines to make learning easier faster and more fun.
"Five years ago, whilst taking a class in Neuro Linguistic Programming," says author Spencer Westwood, " I discovered one of the secrets of how my mind 'really' works when I'm playing guitar. I searched everywhere, but couldn't find a book that really covered what I'd found out. After considerable searching, testing out techniques and practice, I decided to write a book myself about the things I'd found over the last few years."
The NAMM Silver Anniversary Survey in 2003 said that of those surveyed, 85 percent regretted not learning to play an instrument and 67 percent said they would still like to learn how to play one. The survey also revealed that 54 percent of households have at least one member who plays a musical instrument. Spencer maintains that "many more people would learn to play if they only understood the learning process better, and were shown how easy it is to adapt lessons to their own particular thinking styles."
Widely embraced by therapists since its creation by Dr. Richard Bandler and Dr. John Grinder in the 70's, NLP has been popularised in books and on TV by Trainers such as Tony Robbins. NLP is currently used in a diverse set of areas including motivation, coaching, interviewing skills, health issues, advertising, sales, rapport skills, sports psychology and relationships. Due to these widespread applications, there's confusion between what NLP is, and what it can do. Spencer Westwood is one of the few people to take these same NLP tools and specifically apply them to improving guitar playing skills.
"Many guitar books take the approach of explaining the information factually instead of involving the whole mind. Typically it only takes one small mental shift to make a big difference in someone's playing, and I've collected together as many different techniques to do just that".
The book is available electronically as a PDF file download and can be purchased online directly from Spencer's website http://www.beyondbedroomguitar.com and costs $29.97. It is not currently available in printed form.
