The Future of Education in Iraq is A.L.I.V.E.

Americans Liberate Iraq Volunteer to Educate Launches Information Website and Campaign to Rebuild Iraqi Schools

Wilmington, NC (PRWEB) February 13, 2004 -- A.L.I.V.E., Inc. today announced the launch of an informational website. The website, located at www.4alive.org details the campaign to provide the youth of Iraq with educational opportunities by creating partnerships between American and Iraqi schools and how the American people can help the organization succeed.

Founded by Shawn Jensen, a native of Wilmington NC, A.L.I.V.E. was established after he and his fellow soldiers saw the joy Iraqi students displayed upon receiving their donations of desks and school supplies.

"Iraqi civilians are reacting positively to the initial efforts of the organization," said Sa'ad Quassim, a teacher at Al Afaaq Intermediary School for Boys (ages 12-15). "I am very impressed to see what I've been told, that our enemies are helping us like brothers. On behalf of all the school children, I would like to express my gratitude to A.L.I.V.E., many thanks brothers."

The website will serve as the main information conduit for the organization with news updates and information on how the donations are making a difference in Iraq. Visitors will also be able to make their own donations through the website by PayPal or direct postal mail.

The organization has already attracted national attention and the talents of top political figures including Senator Elizabeth Dole who spoke of the organization's efforts on the Senate floor(1). Her husband, Sen. Bob Dole also serves as the Honorary Chairman of the organization.

"Americans want to help and are looking for ways to be more hands on with the situation in Iraq" said Lyndsay Hailey, Director of Homeland Operations. "A.L.I.V.E. provides that opportunity; the opportunity to get involved and show Iraq the true American spirit."
