Web Site Urges Ralph Nader Not to Run for President

Many Democrats believe Ralph Nader's 2000 candidacy made the difference that put George W. Bush into office. They don't want to see it happen again.

(PRWEB) February 13, 2004 --A web site has been launched in an effort to convince Ralph Nader not to run for president this year. Called NoNader.org (www.NoNader.org), the site includes a petition whose signatures will be sent to Mr. Nader.

Site author Eric Riback says he doesnt want a repeat of the 2000 election. Independent and small-party candidacies bring attention to important issues," Riback said, but their candidacies can have consequences that conflict with supporters wishes." He points to the 1992 election, in which Ross Perots candidacy may have swung the election to Bill Clinton, and the 2000 election in which Naders candidacy absolutely made the difference between Gore and Bush."

Riback, while admiring much about Mr. Nader, criticizes him for saying there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans. Bushs actions have made quite clear to people on both ends of the political spectrum that there is a big difference," Riback said. He admits, its nice to vote your conscience, but at the end of the day its who wins that matters."
