Traditional television sets require signifigant space, labor, and materials costs that virtual sets do not. http://www.virtualsetworks.com builds libraries of virtual sets with a variety of themes and uses that can be put into use instantly in any nonlinear editor or other chromakey/virtual set system. Individual sets range in cost from $25-$200 (depending on set, format, and resolution)

With just a chromakey stage, a camera, and a chromakeyer, producers can now be freed from the physical constraints of traditional sets, allowing them to build stadium sized sets made out of any material. The same chromakey stage can be used for multiple sets so that space constraints are a thing of the past.
