New York, NY (PRWEB) February 13, 2004 --On February 18th, Africa 2005 will launch a national campaign in the United States to build support for its international effort to designate 2005 as the worldwide year of Africa.
Ambassador Joseph Wilson IV (USA), Africa 2005, Vice President for the Americas and the US campaign team will launch Africa 2005USA during a breakfast presentation at the Holiday Inn Martinique Hotel, 49 West 32nd Street in New York City. Invited speakers will address the importance of promoting the whole image of Africa, which includes its growing opportunities.
For over a year, Africa 2005 has worked to call the worlds civil society, private sector and individuals to join the effort to reveal a winning image of Africa. This includes raising awareness, educating and disseminating information to everyone with common interests to develop projects on the continent.
The Africa 2005 campaign has developed chapters in several African nations and in countries worldwide, including the United Kingdom, France, Canada and now the United States.
The mission of Africa 2005USA is specifically to raise support and awareness for this worldwide campaign in the United States.
The efforts of Africa 2005 has also established 2005 as a milestone year in line with the UN Millennium Development Goals declaration that designated 2015 as the year by which the world will have made a measurable effort to alleviate the economic, health and social issues on the planet. This campaign is attempting to inspire innovative ideas to address these issues in Africa.
Africa 2005USA will directly contact individuals, businesses and organizations in the US giving Americans a chance to participate in this worldwide campaign. A considerable US participation will generate new opportunities for Africa.
