(PRWEB) February 14, 2004 --Celebrating 5 years of colored 7"s, limited edition imports, legal MP3s, indie rock elitism & dotbomb survival, Insound is pleased to announce that its 5th anniversary party will take place on Friday, March 19 during South by Southwest. Presented in conjunction with Fleet Team Booking, whose roster includes Electrelane, Panthers and The Unicorns, Insounds party will feature the following:
Trans Am (Thrill Jockey) - For over 10 years Trans Am has spanned from rock to synth-pop always staying ten steps ahead of the game; with 2004s Liberation they espouse a new militancy with their always forceful live performance.
The Unicorns (Alien8) - Roundabout, lo-fi, but distinctly catchy music; The Unicorns live shows include films, puppet shows, homeless people hired to impersonate the band & PB sandwiches for everyone. Their debut record was voted one of Pitchfork and Vice Magazines Top 10 Releases of 2003.
American Analog Set (Tiger Style) - For almost a decade now, Austins AmAnSet have been making blissful slocore pop with a delicate schoolboy charm. From their farfisa-drenched debut to the tighter, energetic pop of the recent Promise of Love they consistently managed to be the audio equivalent of a teenage crush.
French Kicks (StarTime International) - French Kicks are not a traditional rocknroll band. Al-though they have elements of snarly garage rock, slick new wave, and giddy classic mod-pop, they remain completely unique. Their latest masterpiece comes out April 2004.
Panthers (VICE) - Panthers have honed their ferocious, intellectual art-punk into one sexy beast. Featuring ex-members of Turing Machine, Pitchblende, The Red Scare, and Orchid so you know they are tougher and smarter than you. Look for their VICE full-length debut this spring.
The Constantines (Sub Pop) - Hailing from Toronto, the Constantines combine a steady diet of '90s DC rock (like a Joe Strummer-fronted Fugazi, its been suggested), with dub-inflected bass, blue-eyed soul and a fundamental punk, anytime/anywhere aesthetic.
Electrelane (Too Pure) - Electrelane are four girls from Brighton, England who started playing together in 1998. Their latest album The Power Out was recorded by Steve Albini in Chicago. Its a monster rock album that pummels & soothes all at once, even featuring a 12 person choir on a track.
