Latin Sensation Christina Souza Stars In Walk His Trail" Shooting In Panama
Christina Souza is cast in the real life story in "Walk His Trail."
LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2004 --Actress, singer and dancer, Christina Souza has been cast in the feature, Walk His Trail." Jungle Films, LLC and Bearing Fruit Communications Bill Ewing will produce the feature along with Tom Newman and Bart Gavigan slated to start production this month. Kevin McAfee and Matt Green to executive produce and Jim Hanon (Beyond the Gates) will direct the feature on location in the jungles of Panama. Based on a true story, Souza will play the role of Dayumae. Preparing for the role of Dayumae was therapy for me. Just by knowing I was to portray a woman of such strength made me stronger in my real life," says Souza. The story follows years of killings amongst the Waodani people which had led five missionaries and their families to the mountains of Equador. The Missionaries were killed to the horror and the confusion of the outside world. A young woman Dayumae had escaped as a child from the tribe to forget the past, however with the help of the families of the men who were killed, Dayumae bridges the two worlds together and ultimately helps to bring peace to a violent society. Christina says, This year has been a whirlwind for me. I felt like I was preparing for the Olympics. From preparations with Walk His Trail" including prosthetics to the screening of Pretty Dead Girl" where I learned original music and choreography." Pretty Dead Girl" which premiered at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, Christina starred as the love interest, Viola.The musical comedy written and directed by Shawn Ku also starred Christian Campbell as Morty. Pretty Dead Girl" is a musical necromance," a twisted retelling of Romeo & Juliet, in which a necrophiliac finally learns to love a woman who is alive. I just tried to shoot an old fashioned date movie," said Ku of his fresh take on the musical genre.
This past year, Christina has crossed all genres of entertainment having appeared in numerous television, film and theater performances, most notable were Becker" with Ted Danson Navy: NCIS," CBS Latino Showcase 2003," She brought audiences to standing ovations as Carmen, in the successful touring musical of Fame ," and the role of Sacagawea in Passages: Louis and Clark" for PBS. Ms. Souza also starred in the independent feature, I Love You Came Too Late," directed by Michael Maze.
