Pretoria, South Africa (PRWEB) February 14, 2004
SurfStats Software announces the release of version 7.1 of Log Analyzer for Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/2003/XP. The much-awaited, improved new version of the software provides new insight on website activity.
Says Development Manager Leon Calitz, "Our Log Analyzer has come a long way - It is exhilarating to compare the progress made from the old versions, first released in 1998, with the new version of today. The new Version 7.1 extracts nearly every piece of possible useful information available from a web server's log file and presents it as easily understandable reports with colorful three dimensional graphs and tables to the user. The new version boasts improved reliability and speed, an enhanced user interface and provides more usable information on visitor activity to the userÂs website."
Brand new in V7.1 is conversion tracking, the latest technology in e-metrics. Conversion tracking helps the website owner to establish the success and ROI of a website. A conversion page is a target page that the site owner wants a visitor to reach like a purchase confirmation page, a newsletter signup, etc. The Log Analyzer then generates conversion-tracking reports from the log files that show which referrer, domain, country and search phrases were the most successful driving visitors to the conversion pages. All versions of SurfStats Log Analyzer include the conversion-tracking module.
Reliability and automation are key success factors for users like webhosts generating a lot of website statistic reports. The new version features:
· A new faster, more reliable database;
· The ability to backup and restore site profiles, schedules, watches, views, conversion tracking details and global settings;
· A redesigned scheduler to automate report generation;
· An improved log parsing engine and the ability to switch off the tracking of hits to image files on busy web sites.
The new version uses the same reporting engine as SurfStats's SurfStatsLive product.
The user interface has been adapted to trends set by Microsoft Windows XP applications with colorful action icons and dockable toolbars, but still features the familiar "Profiles" and "Reports" tab selection, which is intuitively easy to use.
Returning visitor information, page title lookups, URL parameter query analysis, search engine spider (robot) analysis, referrer analysis and per cookie tracking for IIS log files, amongst other features, provide useful information for website owners to act on.
The language support for SurfStats Log Analyzer has also been improved. Reports can now be generated in eight European languages and three Eastern Asian languages. New languages can also be defined with the built-in, improved Language Editor.
Optionally available for all SurfStats products is a visitor origin database. This database provides additional information on visitor origin in certain reports.
