Who Will Be The Desert's Next Top Model? Mix 100.5 and Model's Workbook Authors Hold Contest

Radio station and models/authors hold contest to find next top model of desert area. Prizes include a free two-day workshop, valued at $1,200

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 16, 2004 --Could you be "The Desert's Next Top Model?" If so, Mix 100.5 Radio and the authors of The Model's Workbook, Laura Boulay and William Squire, are holding a contest to find you. Boulay and Squire will be on the air with Mix 100.5's Michael Storm on February 16 and February 27, to talk about what it takes to make it as a model, how even "regular people" can have great modeling careers, and how to avoid scams.

To enter The Desert's Next Top Model contest, log onto mix1005.fm for information on where to e-mail your photos. Anyone can enter the contest. You don't have to look like a supermodel. Boulay and Squire will select the winner and they will look at regular people who they believe have great potential. The person chosen as The Desert's Next Top Model can attend free the two-day intensive Model's Workshop that Boulay and Squire are holding at the Miramonte Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, California on February 28 and 29. This workshop has a value of $800, and there is a $50 discount for seniors and students who can present a student ID. Even if you're not chosen as The Desert's Next Top Model, you can still attend The Model's Workshop, which is open to aspiring models aged 16 years and up. From February 16 to February 27, the station is holding a "book-a-day giveaway," so 10 lucky listeners who call in can win a signed copy of The Model's Workbook.

During The Model's Workshop, Boulay and Squire will help workshop participants identify which "type" they are, skin care tips, make-up application, career organization and how to do that special runway walk. Along with guest speaker Vogue model Lisa Dean and make-up artist Priscilla Gutenberg, Boulay and Squire will discuss how to create a portfolio and resume, how to get an agent, what agencies are looking for, and maintaining good relationships with photographers and others in the industry. They will also conduct mock auditions for TV commercial, print and runway auditions and they will advise on how to turn the auditions into bookings.

Tune in to Mix 100.5 on February 16 to 27 to hear more about The Desert's Next Top Model contest and for a chance to win The Model's Workbook. For more information, visit www.mix1005.fm or www.modelsworkbook.com.
