For 67 years Ski Sunrise has been one of the best kept secret winter ski resorts in Southern California. In 1937 Harlow Dormer of the San Gabriel Valley obtained the first ski area lease on Table Mountain at the site of the present day resort. In 1944 Howard More of Pasadena took over the Table Mountain Ski Area and began construction on the current facilities. In 1953 More completed the existing 6500 square foot Chalet Lodge, constructed with native lumber harvested from the site. The resort consists of 24 runs over a 97-acre facility, operated under permit from the U.S. Forest Service. The term of the lease is 20 years.
