Russell Bedford takes its first steps into West Africa

Muyiwa Bunmi Ogunlela & Co., Lagos, Nigeria, joins worldwide accounting group, Russell Bedford International.

(PRWEB) February 15, 2004 --London-based accounting group Russell Bedford International has begun the expansion of its network into West Africa by taking on a new member firm with offices in Nigeria and Benin.

The new member is the chartered accountancy practice Muyiwa Bunmi Ogunlela & Co. (MBO), founded in 1982 by the senior partner, Olu Ogunlela.

The medium-sized firm has its head office in Lagos and offices in Jos (central Nigeria), Port Harcourt (south-east Nigeria), and in Cotonou, capital of the neighbouring francophone Republic of Benin. Each of the three offices in Nigeria is headed by a resident partner, the other partners being Abraham S. Adesanya and Kehinde Ore. All of the partners have had previous experience with a 'Big 4' accounting firm.

MBO offers a broad range of services including accounting, auditing, tax, consulting and company secretarial services. Its major clients range from companies in the oil, manufacturing, telecommunications and financial services industries, to professional bodies and non-governmental organisations.

The firm is one of only 32 firms registered in the Public Practice Section (PPS) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), permitting it to carry out audits of publicly listed entities.

The firm's working languages are English and French. All personnel speak English; most also speak French and one or more of the many indigenous languages.
