Pfeiffer Authors Receive Industry Awards and Top Honors
Authors specializing in training and development titles recognized for leading works
(PRWEB) February 17, 2004 --Pfeiffer, an imprint of Wiley (NYSE:JWa) (NYSE:JWb) and a leader in human resource development for more than 30 years, today announced that three of its authors recently received awards and top honors from leading industry organizations. The recipients include: Ruth Clark, author of E-Learning and the Science of Instruction" (Pfeiffer, $40), Clark Aldrich, author of Simulations and the Future of Learning" (Pfeiffer, $50), and William Lee, author of several books including Multimedia-Based Instructional Design" (Pfeiffer $62).
The awards represent outstanding industry achievements for each of the authors, all of whom specialize in training and development issues and have produced materials in various formats under the Pfeiffer imprint. In two instances, awards were selected in part by non-profit organizations created to improve workplace learning as well as human and organizational performance.
Ruth Clark has been selected to receive the prestigious International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) Award of Excellence for her book, E-Learning and the Science of Instruction. The ISPI Awards of Excellence program is designed to showcase the people, products, innovations, and organizations that represent excellence in the field of instructional and Human Performance Technology. Last years winners include Cingular Wireless, Capital One and Guardian Life Insurance. The award will be presented at 42nd Annual International Performance Improvement Conference and Exposition in Tampa, Florida taking place April 18-23, 2004.
Training Media Review awarded SimuLearn's Virtual Leader Winner, developed by Clark Aldrich, Best Online Training Product of 2003" on January 12, 2004. The award was commissioned by the American Society for Training and Developments (ASTD) T&D magazine, and included nine other finalists recognized in three media categories (online, video and software) as well as a general category. Founded in 1993, Training Media Review is the only provider of hands-on reviews of business training content for both live and online training. The organization also evaluates training technology and tools, and provides independent commentary.
William Lee was recently recognized by Penn States College of Education Alumni Society, receiving the 2003 award for Leadership & Service. The organization supports five awards annually which are presented to graduates and student-teachers. The Leadership & Service award recognizes those alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen profession, in or out of the field of education. Selections are made based on the basis of leadership and service within a career, a community or to society in general.
