NEW YORK CITY, NY (PRWEB) February 16, 2004 --Brette Goldstein and Andrea Shane are pleased to announce several current and upcoming independent film projects. This past September, Goldstein and Shane announced the merger of their independent offices to create the partnership of Shane/Goldstein Casting. The new office, located at 311 W. 43rd Street, casts film, theatre, television and commercials.

Andrea Shane and Brette Goldstein will begin casting Witch, a horror film written and directed by critically acclaimed director Thomas Farrone in March. Mr. Farrones film Nate Dogg was featured at Raindance last year and won best debut feature. Witch, Thomas Farrones sophomore effort, will be shooting in upstate New York in March and April.

Shane/Goldstein Casting is also pleased to announce that they will be the casting directors for the new Stage One reading series. Stage One is a screenplay reading series that marks an exciting collaboration between Anthology Film Archives and Reel Roundtable. Goldstein and Shane will be working closely with the writers, as well as Elizabeth Carmody from Reel Roundtable and Barney Oldfield from Anthology. We look forward to finding the best actors for these talented filmmakers. There is great potential for script and project development with Stage One. Brette and I are thrilled to be a part of the initial stages of the process," says Shane.

Brette and Andrea are currently casting the thriller Chat Room for Scroll Down Productions, written and directed by Robbie Bryan (The Stand In with Kelly Ripa). Chat Rooms cast currently features Jonathan Tucker, Molly Culver, Coolio and Anthony Head. They are also working with writer/director Jonathan Betzler and Myriad Arts Productions on the casting for Homecoming. Goldstein has just completed casting for the upcoming season at the Folger Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Upcoming film projects for Shane/Goldstein Casting include Blue Rinse for Chester River Films and Ring Liberty for Zeuxis Films.

FESTIVAL UPDATE: XY, a film written and directed by Vladimir Vitkin, based on the cult novel of the same name by Michael Blumlein, and cast by Shane last year, was featured at Slamdance last month. Together, Brette and Andrea cast A.W.O.L., a short film that was recently in competition at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival in France.

The partners have worked in every area of casting: film, theatre, commercials; both on-camera and voiceover, and in digital media including motion capture and voice over for video games. Having worked in such a broad spectrum of disciplines gives us an enormous pool of talent from which to draw," remarks Goldstein. We both bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table from working at some of the best casting offices in the business, such as Judy Henderson & Associates and Elissa Myers Casting. Brette and I have worked with over 25 regional theatres and many commercial and film producers and directors. We are thrilled to go out on our own and create new, prosperous, creative relationships with other artists in the industry," says Shane.
