MONTEBELLO HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ANNOUNCES Local Agency Montebello Housing Development Corporation awarded One Million Dollars from the State of California CalHome Funds
This month Sunne Wright McPeak Secretary of the California Business, Transportation, & Housing Agency announced during a press conference at the site of the Saticoy Village Development project in Van Nuys, that Montebello based Montebello Housing Development Corporation was awarded One million dollars of CalHome funds to be used towards providing mortgage assistance and silent second loans for first time home buyers. Board President Robert Monzon after hearing the news at the press conference today said Im happy that weve been awarded, these funds will go a long way toward providing homebuying assistance on the average of $52k to helping our clients achieve the American Dream of Home Ownership,
(PRWEB) February 16, 2004 --In attendance at the press conference held today where Mayor of Los Angeles Jim K. Hahn, Councilmember Eric Garcetti, and Councilmember Tony Cardenas whos district the press conference was held. Secretary McPeak chose to make her announcements at the site of the Saticoy Village Development project being built with State Proposition 46 funds, by the LA Family Housing Corporation. The Secretary chose this sight for the announcement to demonstrate the Governors commitment to Housing in the State of California.
The Montebello Housing Development Corporation is a 501 C 3 Not for Profit Corporation dedicated to providing home ownership training, counseling, and first time homebuyer opportunities to families of modest financial means. The MHDCs primary service area is the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles County areas. In attendance today where Vice President Bernard Ancheta, Department Managers Lourdes Ortiz, and Mary Ellen Melendez, along with Loan Counselor Erika Campos.
MHDC has assisted over 250 families in purchasing a home and provides home buyer certification training to hundreds of families every year. MHDC has become a leader in financial literacy training and provides a whole array of programs to help first time home buyers. MHDC offers Mortgage Assistance to first time homebuyers, lease to purchase programs, rehab programs to seniors, and coordinates many home ownership fairs to help educate families in the service areas they serve.
