In 1903 Confederate General John B. Gordon published his memoirs. In the year 2003, he did it again. Someone Else's Yesterday is an amazing journey through the eyes of two people: one a Georgian, the other a Connecticut Yankee. Similarities between the two go far beyond coincidence. They think alike, look alike, and even share facial scars. Their lives are so intertwined that they appear to be one. Half of this equation, Jeffrey J. Keene, is a present-day Assistant Fire Chief in affluent Westport, Connecticut. The other half, John B. Gordon, Confederate General, Army of Northern Virginia, died January 9, 1904.
These elements came together at a Halloween party in 1992, leading to a 10-year odyssey including the battlefields of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Georgia as well as the library of the University of Georgia and the Library of Congress. Gathering information from official records, wartime reports and even love letters, Jeff Keene uncovered many parallels between his own life and that of General Gordon. Even the trip to the emergency room on his thirtieth birthday with facial pain had mimicked the wound General Gordon received at the battle of Antietam when he was thirty years of age.
Jeffrey J. Keene has a remarkable story to share on the mysteries surrounding life and death. Nationally-known experts in the field say heÂs living proof of the reality of reincarnation.
ÂIn my research, says reincarnation expert and author Dr. Walter Semkiw, ÂKeeneÂs case is one of the first that IÂve encountered which demonstrates all of the principles of reincarnation. Keene offers compelling evidence.
"I regard Jeff Keene's reincarnation case as having extreme significance for the field of parapsychology. The various features--waking adult memories, birthmarks correlating with old battle wounds, and soul-group connections--all suggest to me new possibilities for validating the reincarnation hypothesis and for conducting further research. This book is a milestone." Jeffrey Mishlove, Ph.D., host of "Thinking Allowed," national public television series
"Anyone who doubts life after death, or reincarnation, should read this book. I highly recommend it." Uri Geller, world famous psychic, author of Life Signs.
Mr. Keene has appeared in front-page stories in The Connecticut Post, Norwalk Hour and The Westport News (all Connecticut papers). Radio talk shows have included Para Science and Beyond hosted by world famous psychic Uri Geller, Jill and Friends with host Jill Lawrence on Wisdom Radio and the very popular Jeff Rense Show.
Jeff was filmed for a segment in the A&E documentary Beyond Death which first aired in April of 2001 and has continued to be shown over the years and the Independent film documentary: In Another Life.
JeffÂs story was included in Dr. Walter SemkiwÂs book Return of the Revolutionaries.
Photographic resemblance between General Gordon and Keene is, to say the least, uncanny. They are like identical twins. Keene bears markings on his face, in three places, that match wounds received by Gordon in battle. On his 30th birthday, Keene was rushed to a local hospital emergency room with pain that mimicked a wound General Gordon received 115 years before  when he was 30. Similarities between the two men are remarkable  both he and General Gordon wore an unusual double-breasted red flannel shirt, think alike and share many of the same mannerisms. In Someone ElseÂs Yesterday the author shares his insights into the workings of reincarnation along with his personal encounter with the nightmare of September 11th, 2001, from a touching eulogy delivered by Mayor Giuliani to the smoldering ruins at Ground Zero. Jeffrey Keene has no choice but to believe in reincarnation--he lived this remarkable story and every word is true.
Jeffrey J. Keene was born in Danbury, Connecticut in 1947 and grew up in the town of Westport, CT, attending Staples High School. He joined the Air Force following his graduation in 1965. Following basic training, Keene specialized as a medic. While serving in Texas, Alabama, Florida, and New Jersey; he rose to the rank of sergeant, and received an honorable discharge in 1969. After returning to Westport, Keene joined the town's fire department in 1976. In his twenty-seven years in the fire service, Keene studied Fire Science at Norwalk State Technical College and attended Delaware State Fire School, where he progressed to the Fire Instructor level. One of the state's first Hazardous Materials Technicians, he also developed a Mock Crash Program to educate local high school students on the dangers of drinking and driving, gaining recognition for his efforts from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Jeffrey Keene is a decorated firefighter and presently an Assistant Fire Chief with the Westport, Connecticut Fire Department. Asst. Chief Keene has spent the last fifteen years as a shift commander and is charged with the development and implementation of Standard Operation Procedures for the department.
