Say goodbye to calories, numbers, points, and fat grams. There is a new program called the What Diet? that is turning the diet industry upside down. Whats the buzz all about?

Believing that diets ultimately do not work, Hearon came up with the What Diet?. Just as it sounds, the What Diet? is not a diet, nor a quick fix. It is a time-invested program of total dietary and lifestyle transformation. As a result, clients gain clarity, knowledge, support, and long-term results in solving health concerns, as well as preventing future ones.

(PRWEB) February 19, 2004 --Created by Mary Kent Hearon, the daughter of a prominent, South Carolina cardiologist, Dragonfly Wellness was started in an effort to educate people on the importance of nutrition. Stunned by the overwhelming mass of dietary confusion, Hearon came up with a program called the What Diet?. Just as it sounds, the What Diet? questions dieting as a whole and offers a solution to such a confusing topic. The What Diet? is a six month, holistic program of total dietary and lifestyle transformation. Through education and support, clients gain clarity, knowledge, and long-lasting results in solving health concerns, as well as preventing future ones.

There are so many diets out there that its hard to believe in one miracle diet," says Dragonfly Wellness founder, Mary Kent Hearon. "We are fooled into thinking the diet that works for our best friend will also work for us. People must understand the power these diets have over our minds. 'Fad diets are not catered to a persons individuality - the body, the mind, or the spirit. Thats when I came up with the What Diet? . The way to health is not about dieting anymore. It's about HOW to eat right." Hearon learned the concept that there is no one particular diet that works for everyone at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN). The school is the only one in the world that teaches all of the different dietary theories with the application of no single one! Diets such as Macrobiotics, Atkins, Zone, and Weight Watchers are just a few of the numerous theories taught.

The What Diet? is offered in a six month program for general wellness and specific health concerns such as weight loss, lowering cholesterol, and diabetes. It is conducted in a holistic method, looking at the whole person not just their specific health concern. "I listen to everything about my client," says Hearon. "What they do for a living is just as important as what they eat for breakfast. My goal is to get to the root of the health concern, something that a lot of people in the medical profession do not have time to address. By educating my clients, I am setting the stage for prevention of future illness." Also, Dragonfly Wellness offers customized wellness kits for stressful times, travel, and general well-being.

Hearon has created quite a following of people who have benefited from the What Diet?. "Americans are so interested in a quick fix. What Diet? is not for those interested in making changes over night. Change takes time and I have plenty of time for those interested in making the commitment." Throughout the six month duration of the What Diet?, clients learn the art of incorporating healthy foods, the importance of listening to their body in regards to cravings, and how to cook healthy foods. A journal to record food intake is given in an effort to listen and observe the body from within.

In addition to her private practice, which includes clients from New York, London, and South Carolina, Hearon gives lectures at various centers and counsels patients at Columbia Cardiology Consultants. www.dragonflywellness.com
