(PRWEB) February 26, 2004 --Mary Erickson, Grand Junction author, plans to attend an authors conference sponsored by PublishAmerica of Frederick, Maryland the weekend of February 27-29. The company is one of the countrys largest publishers, and the event to be held in Frederick promises to be one of the biggest authors conferences ever. The weekend will include workshops, book signings, and meetings with the staff.
Launched by Willem Meiners and Larry Clopper several years ago, the company has, to date, published books by over four thousand authors. One of the cofounders goals is to give more writers a chance to be published.
PublishAmerica authors have been interviewed by news media across the country from the Washington Post to the Los Angeles times and have appeared on national television shows such as the Montel Williams show and Hardball.
Probably the companys most famous author is Jamie Farr, who played the part of Clinger on M*A*S*H. Mr. Farr coauthored a childrens book with his wife, Joy.
Mary Ericksons suspense novel, Ten Times Have the Lilies Blown, was published in late 2003, and can be ordered at local bookstores, as well as through the publishers web site. The author is scheduled to be at Barnes & Noble in Grand Junction on March 20 from 2 to 4 for a book signing.
What reviewers are saying about Ten Times Have the Lilies Blown.
Kathy Patrick of the Pulpwood Queens national book club and Good Morning America fame had this to say about the novel: A page turner folks. Kept me up till 2:00 a.m. in the morning wide-awake . . . biting my artificial nails into a shamble. Thats high praise, nail biting."
Ten Times Have the Lilies Blown is way beyond what one would expect, and delightfully so. Its been a long time since this reader has read something so well thought out and expertly executed." Denise M. Clark, Denises Pieces.
Long known for her poetry and paintings, Erickson has combined the lushness of both in this, her first novel. The characters are richly
drawn, and the reader is quickly drawn to them-an unmistakable sign that a good story is sure to unfold." Kathryn Retzler, Silver Stage Entertainment and Arts Magazine
Kevin Tipple of the Blue Iris Journal wrote in his review: This novel is full of interesting characters and vivid descriptions of small town life in the foothills of Colorado. This literary-style novel relies on character development to move the action forward and does a wonderful job of enticing the reader into this world--one that may appear sunny and bright on the surface, a Norman Rockwell-style version of small-town life, but at the same time holds numerous dark secrets beneath the surface."
