Controversial short film, The Forgotten Ones, premieres at MeDiA Co-Op's 2nd Anniversary Open House Weekend

The Forgotten Ones is a short, dramatic, narrative that deals with victimization and ritual abuse in its most vulnerable form.

(PRWEB) February 20, 2004 --God and Sexuality. In these times where morality and individuality become harder to define, comes the emotional and controversial short film, The Forgotten Ones, featuring theatre locals, Dee Latch, DeAara-Lynnette Lewis and Kianne Nicole. The film tells the story of Lorraine, a fierce political activist, caught up in a heated law suit where freedom of religion and school prayer are strongly being questioned. When she is visited by two women who threaten to destroy her reputation with a dark secret, Lorraine is forced to make a painful decision.

Individuals in positions of power who use faith and superiority as a way to victimize, inspired DeAara to write and direct this story, which took a little over a year and a half to complete. She wanted to explore the motivations behind the kinds of people who were the most skilled at victimizing as well as the kinds of people who were the most vulnerable to it.

The Forgotten Ones will premiere March 13, 2004 at 9:30 p.m. during the MeDiA Co-Ops 2nd Anniversary Open House Weekend at 1000 S. Cooper (First Congo Arthouse Theatre).

The completing of this film was a story within itself. During pre-production and production, DeAara dealt with the death of her grandfather, a fire that destroyed her home, and raising the money to not only produce the project, but replace her personal belongings. This is DeAaras first film.
