Unlike bronzes, these "one of a kind" metal eagle sculptures are created with thousands of detailed feathers welded onto a skeltal frame. Its dramatic look will certainly have viewers experiencing the spirit and the power and the glory of the bald eagle. Fascination of this work of art, from clients and customers, will enrich and enhance any corporation or shopping center image.

(PRWEB) February 20, 2004 -- Lee Todd, a sculptor living in the Rocky Mountain area for nearly 30 years, has introduced to the world a concept of creating life size metal sculptures of eagles, that actually captures the uniqueness of individual bird expressions, versus bronze sculptures.

Always fascinated with three dimensional form, he started carving wooden birds at the age of 14, and became destined approximately fifteen years ago to create in metal. His skill in vividly capturing the spirit and movement of his subjects is surpassed only by his sensitive attention to detail and his anatomical accuracy. The engraved feathers ranging in size from 1/4" to 11" long, have a shaft and veins, and are hand cut to size, and then welded onto a skeltal steel frame, one at a time, overlapping as real feathers do, making the integrity of form and structure.

His latest masterpiece of two eagles fighting over a snake, is a mixed media, with over 10,000 feathers, and a real taxidermic snake, which adds to the life like qualities of this magnificent sculpture. The overall sculpture is approximately 6' square and 7'tall.

A sculpture in progress is a memorial to 9-11 and will feature an eagle with tears in its eyes, standing on a steel American flag, which is embedded in a marble base.

Lee is available for commissions.
