OPENXTRA Introduce Award Winning Neutrino Sensor to the UK and Ensure Wireless Network Security at Worthing Borough Council

OPENXTRA, UK open source network management specialists, have signed an agreement with US based Network Chemistry Inc to introduce award winning Wireless LAN security system to the UK and announce the first UK public sector installation at Worthing Borough Council.

(PRWEB) February 24, 2004 --Worthing Borough Council, which serves a population of 100,000, are the first public sector organisation in the country to install the Wireless LAN Security System on their network. Simon Park, Worthing Borough Council's IT Operations Manager comments I realised we had an obligation to the public to ensure that our information assets and our networks were secure. Implementing the Neutrino Sensor Wireless Intrusion Detection System has meant that I can achieve this quickly and easily for a very competitive price."

The Neutrino Sensor, winner of Best of Show Award at 802.11 PLANET Expo and Conference 2003 is a cost-effective hardware device that detects breaches in Wireless LAN security 24/7, finds faults and optimises performance. Because of its open architecture, the Sensor also integrates seamlessly with open source management software such as Kismet and Packetyzer.

We are delighted to be the first company in the UK to offer the Neutrino Sensor ." says Denis Laverty, MD, OPENXTRA Ltd. The Neutrino Sensor conforms to our policy of making Network Efficiency and Security cost-effective, easy and achievable for all organisations, whatever their budget constraints."

Although implementing a wireless network is one of the projected priorities for IT Managers in 2004, many are holding back because of security fears. The Neutrino Sensor addresses this issue with an affordable, easy to deploy system for wireless intruder detection, and a very competitive price means that IT managers can ensure total continuous protection. Constantly monitoring an entire physical infrastructure, the patent pending system automatically detects external intrusion attacks and internal policy violations. Neutrino Sensors warn the user of all types of rogue Wireless LAN devices and war-driving attacks. The system enforces custom security policies, identifies who is using the Wireless LAN and diagnoses network health problems.

Enterprises are truly concerned about what happens when the corporate network leaks via the wireless LAN, yet robust wireless intrusion protection need not be cost-limiting to all but the largest corporations and governments" comments Robert Markovich, President of Network Chemistry, Enterprises of all sizes have critical information assets to protect and now organisations in the UK can turn to Network Chemistry's Neutrino Sensor to close security holes and find intruders before damage is done."

The Neutrino Sensor is available from OPENXTRA (www.openxtra.com) from single units to an enterprise-wide application and is extremely competitively priced starting from around 500 for a system that's ready to go.
