(PRWEB) February 22, 2004 --In her new book, Grieving With Poetry- A Journey to the Soul (Sun Rising Poetry Press, Mar 2004), acclaimed poet Anastasia Clark (Moore),a former Poet-In-Residence for Framingham, MA (1977-78),now living in Miramar, FL, shares her journey to the soul with readers- and they come away from the experience weeping. Clark shares her intimate journal entries and poems written after the death of her parents. The work is a birds eye view of the grieving process as the poet transcends reality and finds herself writing about the unthinkable: death. Death at her front door.
The book begins with, Hi Ma, I wish we could call you..." and grips the reader from there. The poetry is some of her best work and is packed with unforgettable imagery, raw pain, and gut-wrenching themes. In The Christmas Chair," she aptly forges the haunting image of a familys first holiday without their mother- likening them to hungry kittens on a winter porch. In Funeral for My Father," she heads straight to his cemetery plot and reacts to the stark vision of a pile of flowers on his fresh grave.
Grieving With Poetry is Clark in her deepest hour, with a mighty pen to chronicle her Journey To The Soul through a series of surreal poems. She takes readers on a tearful journey that proves to be both healing and cathartic.
Clarks other two books, Bloodsongs-Poetry for Those Who Know of Being Woman and Skeletons and Other Complaints will be released later this year by The Sun Rising Poetry Press.
