QSAC Facility Called Well Developed In NYS OMRDD Report
NYS Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Issues Report on QSAC's Award Winning Programs.
QUEENS, NY (PRWEB) February 22, 2004 --Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) today said it has received an exit conference report" from the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) calling QSACs day habilitation plans at its Hollis, New York, facility comprehensive, well-developed and in full compliance with regulations. The OMRDD report also said recertification of this program is highly recommended."
Reports Findings Underscore QSAC Commitment, Maffei says We are especially pleased by the findings of the report and the recertification recommendation because it recognizes and underscores our total commitment to providing quality service and care to our consumers and their families, and being a valued part of New Yorks work addressing autism," said Gary A. Maffei, QSACs executive director.
The report was issued after a review of the day hab program to confirm certain procedural issues brought to the attention of QSAC, in November, by OMRDD, had been addressed.
In the report, the surveyor noted, The staff were very positive, upbeat and informative during interviews. Revised day hab plans were comprehensive, well developed and consumers input was clearly indicated."
Facility Called Clean, Safe, Well-Maintained
The report also noted, The physical plant is clean, safe and well maintained." In addition it observed, The facility continues to remain committed to providing a 2:1 staffing ratio in the classrooms to ensure consumer safety but to also accommodate consumers use of the community (recreation and volunteer sites)."
"This is another example of our objective, as an award-winning organization, to make every effort to work cooperatively with all regulatory organizations and meet the letter and the spirit of all rules and regulations," Mr. Maffei said.
QSAC is a 25-year old, Queens-based, organization dedicated to serving the autism community in the New York City-Long Island area with the most extensive array of services available.
