Plaid Enterprises awards Debba Haupert, president of BoBella Marketing & Design LLC, recipient of annual 2004 Plaid Horizon Award at HIA Tradeshow, Dallas, February 6, 2004
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) February 23, 2004 ---Plaid is pleased to announce Debba Haupert as the winner of the 2004 Horizon Award, a $3,000 professional development grant that the company established exclusively for members of the Society of Craft Designers. Entries are judged based on the candidates vision for professional growth, and how the Horizon grant can help accomplish this goal. The annual recipient also demonstrates mentoring, sharing and support characteristics consistent with SCDs mission. Haupert was announced as the recipient at the recent Hobby Industry Assn. (HIA) tradeshow in Dallas, TX on February 6, 2004.
As a member of SCD for only three years, Debba is already a recognized craft designer. Debbas trendy design projects have been published in numerous magazines and she has appeared on TV shows including HGTVs Carol Duvall Show and QVC. With over 20 years of corporate marketing experience, Debba has contributed to the craft industry by working with leading retailers in the industry on educational videos, projects for print and websites, product development, demonstrating, teaching and has written and contributed to many craft books. Through her company, BoBella Marketing and Design LLC, www.bobella.com, Debba has developed new tools and kits, provided sales support and managed designer and media relations for craft manufacturers. She recognizes the importance of SCD and the impact it has had on her career and in turn shares her knowledge of marketing through articles in the SCD Newsletter and marketing classes at SCD Seminars.
Debba has also served on the SCD Design Trend Committee and was recently nominated and elected to join the SCD Board of Directors in 2004. She looks forward to further contributing to the organization and the craft industry in this new position.
With a future goal of additional product development, book opportunities, manufacturer marketing support, licensing and/or assisting other designers in this area, Debba plans to use the $3,000 Horizon grant from Plaid to purchase new software for her computer, take graphic design classes and attend the Licensing Show in 2004.
