Police Shut Down Kanye West Hip-Hop Show in San Francisco
Kanye West show in San Francisco is shut down by police when a massive crowd rushed the doors before the show began.
Promoters and ticketing service are putting together offer to disappointed fans.
(PRWEB) February 23, 2004 --The Kanye West show scheduled last night (February 20)was shut down by police before headliners even took the stage. Due to the very recent surge in popularity of the hip-hop sensation Kanye West, the venue was overwhelmed with fans. The doors were stormed by not only the 1500 strong sold-out crowd, but an estimated 2000 additional fans.
In an effort to satisfy Kanye West fans, promoters have offered everyone who bought tickets for last night's show replacement tickets for the next Hip-Hop 101 event featuring Devin tha Dude on March 19th. In addition, they will be sent complimentary tickets to a second show, Ghostface Killa on April 16th.
If ticket buyers prefer, they may also opt for a full refund. Brown Paper Tickets, the ticket service handling the event, has decided to make an unprecedented refund of the service fee as well. Brown Paper Tickets decided to make this offer since this on-line ticketing company was formed to bring an affordable, fair-ticketing option to local live events. William Scott Jordan, President of Seattle-based Brown Paper Tickets, commented about the offer, "Our mission is always about bringing fairness and justice back to the live-events community. We just felt this was the right thing to do."
Brown Paper Tickets is the first and only fair-trade ticketing company, offering a better and more affordable alternative for live event ticketing. Brown Paper Tickets is also a not-just-for-profit company. Brown Paper Tickets donates 5% of its profits back to the local live event community.
