PicoServ Miniature Web Server Talks SNMP

The PicoServ miniature web server module from Compulogic is now available with support for the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).

(PRWEB) February 25, 2004 --The PicoServ miniature web server module from Compulogic is now available with support for the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).

SNMP is an Internet-standard protocol for managing devices on IP networks. PicoServ now supports the SNMP protocol enabling a PicoServ system to be administered and monitored remotely from an SNMP based network management system.

Any PicoServ parameter can be read or updated using the SNMP protocol, including parameters from I/O modules and serial host devices. In this way the PicoServ system can be used as an SNMP Proxy Agent" to enable the remote monitoring and control using SNMP of devices not capable of supporting the SNMP protocol directly.
