Gabriel Mark Hasselbach Dazzles both Denver and the Jazziz sampler CD "For Lovers Only" in February
Gabriel Mark Hasselbach, a jazzman leading a double life in both mainstream and smooth jazz genres, performs in Denver February 26, 2004, and appears on the Jazziz February 2004 sampler CD, "For Lovers Only." As both composer and performer, Gabriel rolled out two CDs simultaneously in late 2003: "Gabriel's Horns" and "Come Out Swingin' " on the independent Wind Tunnel Multimedia label. The first single "Maui Rain" from "Gabriel's Horns" is getting extensive airplay on smooth jazz stations across the country and looks to be chartbound.
DENVER, CO (PRWEB) February 25, 2004 --Jazz recording artist, Gabriel Mark Hasselbach, is making a rare Denver appearance. A Denver native, the local boy who has made an international name for himself, is coming to Denver for one night only for a special show at Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge on Thursday, February 26. Gabriel will perform two shows at 6:30 & 8:30 that evening and there is a $15 cover charge. Dazzle is located at 930 Lincoln Street in Denver and reservations can be made by calling Dazzle at 303-839-5100.
At 2 pm on February 26, he and his band will give a sample of the evening's performance with a live broadcast on KUVO radio, 89.3 FM. Denver is the first stop on a tour that will take him to Los Angeles and then Hawaii, for Jazz Under The Stars shows.
In addition, in February, Gabriel is featured on the Jazziz Magazine sample CD, "For Lovers Only." On the featured instrumental ballad "Soulmates," Gabriel's horns float on the cushion provided by keyboardist and bassist Fulton Tashombe. Since leaving Denver in the 70s, Gabriel has had an amazing career. He began with Canada's multi-platinum group The Powder Blues, a band whom with he recorded seven albums, three of which went double platinum, and one of which received a JUNO award in 1980 (the Canadian equivalent to a Grammy). He also received many awards for his own efforts in the industry such as the Technics/JUNO Allstar Band Award (2 years), Ampex Golden Reel Award, and West Coast Music Award.
He launched a solo career in 1981 and never looked back, recording nine albums. Playing trumpet, and a variety of horns, woodwinds, and digital wind instruments, his work in both the smooth jazz and mainstream jazz arenas has garnered great recognition nationally and internationally, as well as throughout his longstanding two bases of operations Vancouver, Canada and Kihei, Maui.
Gabriel has performed at prestigious international jazz festivals including the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the North Sea Jazz & Blues Festival in Holland, and is featured with Michael Buble' on an upcoming Chris Isaak (TV) Show, which will air Feb 19, 20, 21, and 22 on Showtime.
