Douglas GA Black Parents Fight Racial discrimination in Schools - form GACAR

A group of concerned African-American parents have formed GACAR - Georgia Citizens Against Racism to fight racial discrimination in the local public school system.

(PRWEB) February 25, 2004 --African-American Parents of Douglas County Georgia Unite to End Racial Discrimination -- Form GA.C.A.R. -- Georgia Citizens Against Racism.

In an effort to combat the racial discrimination practiced in the Douglas County Public schools, the concerned African-American parents of this county have formed an organization to report the numerous incidents to local, state and federal authorities. We have been contacted by a large number of parents, community persons and leaders who have all shared their horrible ordeals with this district. This was in response to the Press release sent earlier by Dr. Michael L. McIntosh. We are in the process of collecting all of these complaints and sending a compiled list of them to the Office of Civil rights -- Us Department of Education, and the Justice Department. Our Hope is that somehow this overwhelming outcry will draw a response from local, state and federal officials so that an investigation will be launched by an unbiased advocate. We are also calling upon the clergy, elected Black leaders, and community activists to get involved in the fight for justice. We have suffered too long under this oppressive and racist treatment and we will not tolerate anymore of it. We need every parent who feels they of their children have ever been discriminated against to contact GACAR so that we compile the complaints and bring a civil suit against Douglas County Public schools. We need the following information in every complaint.

Name of Person discriminated against
Date of discrimination
Age of person discriminated/mistreated
Race of person discriminated/mistreated
Name of person reporting the discrimination/mistreatment
Short description of the incident(s)
Name of the person(s) who discriminated/mistreated you
Organization they worked for (i.e.., Mulberry school, district office)

Mail these complaints to:

GACAR
C/O Dr. Michael McIntosh

If you have any questions, call 1-877-487-7357 and leave a detailed message for GACAR. We need you to pass this Press release to every African-American in Douglas County so that the process will begin to bring justice to minority children of Douglas County.
