Teletrol President Elected to BACnet Manufacturers Assocation Board of Directors

(PRWEB) February 26, 2004 --The BACnet® Manufacturers Association (BMA) elected Teletrol Systems Inc. President/CEO, Andy McMillan, to its Board of Directors. Mr. McMillan was elected to the BMA board of directors at the annual BMA meeting held in conjunction with the ASHRAE conference at the January 2004 AHR Expo in Anaheim, CA. Teletrol Systems, an industry leader in building automation technology, participates in many aspects of theBACnet community including the BMA itself, the BACnet product testing laboratory and the ASHRAE BACnet committee.

Mr. McMillan's election to the Board of Directors will actively involve Teletrol Systems in the strategic direction and policies of the BMA during his four year term. "I am dedicated to serving the BMA as we collectively work towards our goal of marketing and promoting the use of BACnet to building owners, facility executives, consulting engineers and the building automation community at large," said McMillan. "In addition, I expect to contribute to the ongoing work regarding the incorporation of web technologies, such as XML and HTTP, into the BACnet standard."

The BMA is a non-profit organization comprised of manufacturers of BACnet products from various building automation industry segments, as well as individuals involved in systems design and implementation. The BMA's mission is to encourage the successful use of BACnet in building automation systems through interoperability testing, educational programs, promotional activities and coordination with various BACnet organizations.

Mr. McMillan brings to the BMA Board over 20 years experience in open systems and data communications protocol standards. His prior experience includes establishing a protocol conformance test center, co-authoring a book on open systems, and serving as Chairman for a global consortium of open systems automation users and suppliers.
