Red Alert! Red Alert! Network Box Announces Immediate Availability of Red Alert Button

A new and potentially lethal virus surfaces. Your email systems are in danger. What can you do to firstly be alerted and secondly, ensure you are adequately protected? You call Network Box. HOUSTON (PRWEB) February 27, 2004 -- A new and potentially lethal virus surfaces. Your email systems are in danger. What can you do to firstly be alerted and secondly, ensure you are adequately protected? You call Network Box. A leading player in the global Internet Threat Prevention and Security Solutions sector, Network Box is pleased to announce the immediate availability of its new Red Alert Button feature.

Whats this? When a critical global outbreak of a new virus appears on the Internet, Network Boxs service centers are immediately warned" by virtue of its Network Boxes which effectively detect the attack and respond immediately vis-à-vis sending alerts back to the support centers. Network Box Support Centers will then instantly suspend email systems of all its clients until such time that relevant signatures are available.

Mark Webb-Johnson, Lead Architect and creator of the Network Box, explains, On average, it takes about 30 minutes for anti-virus technicians to analyze the threat, then create and test the signatures to block it. During this time, particularly in the case of fast emerging threats [such as the latest Mydoom, clients are still very vulnerable to attacks and infection. That is why we created the new Red Alert Button feature - to sustain client protection whilst investigations to create the appropriate signatures are in progress. The Red Alert Button is part of Network Boxs ongoing initiatives to constantly offer value-added proposition to clients."

Pierluigi Stella, CTO of Network Box USA, Inc., added: We are able to implement this feature as our service centers have the ability to modify the configuration of the boxes remotely. This service is again part of the Network Box value-proposition and is offered to clients as part of the purchase agreement without additional charges. Viruses are getting smarter. We must stay a step ahead to ensure the email systems of our clients stay safe and protected at all times."

Typically the suspension of email systems will last less than an hour and will immediately be lifted once signatures are released. Such a suspension occurs only in the case of a critical global outbreak and only at alert condition 5 **, and only for clients who have previously given permission for this feature to be used on their box. Obviously, this is a last-resort disaster-avoidance measure.

Network Box defines Alert condition 5 as Internet is under heavy attack, with severe degradation of service globally."

Network Box USA, Inc. was formed in response to the escalating danger posed by security breaches, virus attacks and similar threats arising from widespread use of the Internet. Our mission is to provide small and medium-sized enterprises with a cutting-edge computer network security solution that is effective yet affordable.
